Hidden Message

A fog, so bold and thick,
Lies misty and dank ahead,
A lamp without a wick,
A halo around my head.

Sweetness no more haunts me,
And sadness gently embraced,
I feel no numbness, nor she,
I look forward, undisgraced.

A boat that's big and deep,
In shallow waters, I do ride.
Sea water for me is really cheap,
But expensive is what I hide.

When tears I jealously hide,
And Sorrow I gently mourn,
Experience I keep as my only guide,
And I wait for the 'morrow morn.

The grass is greener in the others lawn,
And momentarily I am disarmed.
For days on end I play the horn,
And when least expected, It's calmed.

Booby traps are not my fancy,
But intelligence, it plays a role,
In keeping my life a blade from chancey,
And yet I never reach my goal.
